In automated food and beverage packaging, speed is dictated by pneumatic cylinders. To control these rapid air cylinders, engineers rely on dense manifolds of solenoid valves, each wired with a standard DIN Valve Connector (Form A, B, or C).

The Hygienic Threat to Pneumatic Control
Hollow-Cavity Condensation: Standard DIN plugs are hollow plastic shells with a rubber gasket. During hot washdowns, a vacuum effect draws moisture past the gasket, flooding the internal screw terminals and short-circuiting the solenoid.
Biological Traps: The prominent central retaining screw and multi-piece housing of a traditional DIN plug act as perfect breeding grounds for bacteria, failing strict FDA sanitation swab tests.
